How we work

Founder Taylor Braucht is a third generation builder who grew up in the custom home business.  Years of experience has molded our method from initial conception to the day you move in.  Below are the steps we take to ensure your project is flawless from start to finish.

Tell us about your project.  We will ask you questions like: Do you have a lot?  Are you in contact with any Architects?  What does your dream home look like?  
Questions like these help us get a picture of where you are in the process.  At this point we will set up a meeting to discuss current and future needs in your new home, initial budget, and overall project viability.

Whether we are performing this in-house or working with your design team, we are now in full design mode!  We will work with you to get detailed drawings together.  Now the design team will produce elevations, schematic drawings, and a detailed outline summary.  At this point we will use those drawings to begin a schematic budget which typically involves our preferred subcontracts and vendors.  This budget is designed to help our teams refine the footprint and begin refining the finishes of the home.

This stage is all about your lot.  If you have already purchased your lot we will get a soils report, survey of the site (if not already complete) and start conceptual design.  We will determine the size and number of stories of your new home.  We will work with you to produce a preliminary design and floor plan.
You may already have an architect and engineer that you have been working with.  In this case we will work with the design team to fill in the gaps to accomplish the same process.  This is usually a 2-3 week process from the first site visit until our first review of design.

Step 4

After reviewing the initial budget, we sit down with you and the design team to begin finalizing the design to fit your needs and budget. We work with the structural engineer along with electrical and HVAC designers to wrap up the system designs within your home.  We will go through one more final pricing stage and begin selecting finishes and final details.  Once the final drawings are complete, we submit to the city for a building permit.

Step 5

Let's get building!  This is the stage where we turn over to our operations team.  You will be assigned a project team (usually the project manager has been involved from day one).  This team connects with you and lays out a detailed schedule.  You are then given a log in to our "Client Portal" which gives you real time information such as schedule updates, choices yet to be made, and any budget changes that occur.  Depending on duration, you will be in your new home within 8 months to a year.
